GRE is one of the subsidiary bodies of the World Forum for Harmonization of Vehicle Regulations (WP.29). During the session demonstration cars having prototype Advanced Front-lighting Systems (AFS) will be parked near Pregny Gate in the premises of the Palais des Nations. The AFS headlamps provide better performance and improve road safety. A driving demonstration (for GRE delegates only) has been scheduled for 9 p.m., Tuesday, 4 April.

The first Meeting of Signatories to the Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters (the Aarhus Convention), held in the Republic of Moldova in April 1999, established a task force on genetically modified organisms, with Austria as lead country. The task force reviews national experiences with public participation in decision-making on GMOs, as well as relevant international processes and developments, and making recommendations for further action for consideration by the second Meeting of Signatories.
