A transcontinental country located in Eurasia, Turkey is a middle-income state with the population of almost 76,8 million and a per capita income of $9,125 (World Bank, 2015). According to the WHO estimate, Turkey suffers from 6,687 road fatalities annually. According to the WHO data, Turkey has strong laws addressing child seat and seat-belt use. However, drink-driving, speeding, and helmet use laws need to be improved. Turkey is a contracting party to four of six UN Road Safety Conventions.
