Since
1948 the Economic Survey of Europe provides regular, comprehensive
analyses of economic developments and prospects in the entire ECE region.
Since 1989 a major focus has been on the process of transition to market
economies in central ang eastern Europe and the CIS.
Selected
sections of issue No. 2 of the 2002 Survey is available below
in MS Word and PDF format. It is also being printed and will soon be
available as a United Nations publication (Sales No. E.02.II.E.8). Part One of this issue contains a review and assessment of recent
macroeconomic trends and prospects in the whole of Europe, the CIS and
North America. Part Two contains the papers presented to the
UNECE Spring Seminar in May 2002: Labour Market Challenges in the
ECE Region. Part Three contains a Statistical Appendix with
long time series for a large array of variables.
