UNUnited Nations Economic Commission for Europe

Introduction

UNECE holds an annual formal session to review the economic situation of the region and decide on its work programme. During this session, the Commission takes decision on its activities for the coming year and on recommendations it will be submitting to its parent body ECOSOC.

UNECE has eight sectoral committees: the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Integration, the Committee on Environmental Policy, the Inland Transport Committee, the Committee on Trade, the Timber Committee, the Committee on Housing and Land Management, the Committee on Sustainable Energy and the Conference of European Statisticians. Each sectoral committee has its own permanent and ad hoc subsidiary bodies.
