An Expert Group on Particulate Matter was established by Executive Body decision 2004/3 with the aim to assess the degree of control of pollutants contributing to the formation of particulate matter. It also reviewed work on particulate matter under the Convention and considered the scientific and technical requirements for developing further measures to reduce particulate matter. It provided inputs to the negotiation process of the revision of the Gothenburg Protocol. The Expert Group fulfilled its mandate in 2007. The Expert Group was led by Germany and the United Kingdom.
