22 countries
sign new Protocol on Civil Liability
On 21 May 2003, on
the occasion of the fifth Ministerial
Conference "Environment for Europe"
in Kiev, Ukraine, 22 countries signed
the new Protocol on Civil Liability
and Damage Caused by the Transboundary
Effects of Industrial Accidents on Transboundary
Waters to the UNECE Conventions on the
Transboundary Effects of Industrial
Accidents and on the Protection and
Use of Transboundary Waters and International
Lakes.
These countries are:
Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia
and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark,
Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Greece, Hungary,
Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco,
Norway, Portugal, the Republic of Moldova,
Romania, Sweden, Ukraine, and the United
Kingdom.
