Workshop on UNRSF Call for Proposals

A workshop was organized on 5 November 2019 to inform the diplomatic corps in Geneva and other local stakeholders about the UN Road Safety Fund (UNRSF) 2019 call for proposals and guidelines, in the context of the Geneva Friends of Road Safety Network. The workshop, followed by an exhibition "Our children, our roads, our responsibility" and reception, was co-hosted by Special Envoy for Road Safety and EU Ambassador, in the presence and with the support of Dr. Tedros, Director-General of the World Health Organization, Ms. Olga Algayerova, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the UN Road Safety Fund (UNRSF) Secretariat. More than 60 countries were represented at the workshop and reception.
The Geneva Friends of Road Safety Network is an initiative aimed at increasing engagement of the diplomatic corps in Geneva to link up international efforts with national initiatives in view of reducing the death toll on roads, and to help the road safety community with political commitments, as well as to support the mandate of the Special Envoy and activities of the UNRSF.
Established in April 2018, the UNRSF is aimed at assisting low- and middle-income countries in building and strengthening their national road safety systems to ultimately save lives. For more information on UNRSF’s Call for Proposals, please click here.
