Mexico: A middle-income country with a population of 128.9 million. According to WHO (2018) Mexico (Meso-America region) had the second lowest road death rate at 14.2 per 100,000 inhabitants after North America. Mexico has acceded to only 2 out of 7 UN road safety legal instruments.
During the mission, the Special Envoy met with the following officials towards advocating for safer roads in the country:
