On 12 March 2021, the Special Envoy virtually met with H.E. Ms. Mariangela Zappia, Permanent Representative of Italy to the Office of the United Nations and Other International Organizations in New York. The purpose of the discussion was to inform of the recent UNGA Resolution (A/RES/74/299) and the relevant SDG targets. The Special Envoy inquired about Italy’s involvement in the 2021 UN Climate Change Conference (COP26), to be held in Glasgow from 1 to 12 November 2021 under the presidency of the United Kingdom. Italy is a “partner” to the UK in this process and the Special Envoy requested support to get mobility on the agenda.
Lastly, the Special Envoy discussed opportunities to engage the Friends of Road Safety Network.
