On 30 March 2022, the Special Envoy met with H.E. Mr. Amr Abdellatif Aboulatta, Permanent Observer of the African Union in Geneva. The Special Envoy recommended exploring synergies for collaboration in Africa, highlighted the UN milestones for global road safety including the HLM and the Global Plan for the Second Decade of Action for Road Safety (2021-2030). The Special Envoy also encouraged engagement with the UNRSF.
