On 19 April 2021, the Special Envoy virtually met with H.E. Mr. Tarcisio Gomes De Freitas, Minister of Infrastructure of Brazil, to inform about new global targets and encourage safer transport in Brazil and the region. The Special Envoy congratulated Brazil on its recent progress and encouraged more action, recommending a national road safety strategy and action plan to halve number of road deaths and injuries by 2030.
