On 2 March 2021, the Special Envoy met with Ms. Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on mobility and transport in the capital and France, and to share information on the latest projects and activities of the UNRSF. Among other initiatives, the Forum of Mayors Road Safety Challenge 2021, an opportunity planned to promote the visibility of the UNRSF, raise awareness and engage new cities for road safety. Lastly, the Special Envoy informed and invited the Mayor to the Kapuscinski Development lecture, an event financed by the EU and implemented by UNDP, held online 4 May 2021 with a focus on safe mobility.
