On 9 May 2022, the Special Envoy met with Ms. Shanchita Haque, Deputy Permanent Representative of Bangladesh to highlight Bangladesh’s commitment to road safety and encourage more action, such as improving laws on risk factors like drink driving, speeding, helmets and seatbelts. The Special Envoy discussed the upcoming HLM and encouraged Bangladesh’s involvement with the UNRSF.
