UN Cooperation in the UNECE Region

The 2030 Agenda and the SDGs require joint action and strengthened cooperation among United Nations organizations. In the UNECE region, more than 30 United Nations organizations pool their expertise and join hands to maximize the impact of their work across Europe and Central Asia. Joint analysis, advocacy, policy coordination and country support on a number of cross-cutting issues has become standard practice in the region.

UN in Europe and Central Asia sharpens focus on 2030 Agenda

The UN entities in Europe and Central Asia keep forging ahead in better connecting their expertise and capacities to support the 2030 Agenda in the region. The Regional UN System Meeting (Istanbul, 20-21 May) – the joint policy and operational platform bringing together all UN entities in the region – agreed on a number of steps to further enhance collaboration in line with the ongoing reform of the UN Development System. Read more

Regional Forum on Sustainable Development for the UNECE Region 2021

The Regional Forum is a multi-stakeholder platform and jointly organized by UNECE and the Regional UN system. The next Regional Forum will take place on 17-18 March 2021 as a hybrid meeting, with a focus on “Sustainable and resilient recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and action and delivery on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the UNECE Region.
