2018 IECEx International Conference

23 April 2018
Split Croatia

The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the IECEx (IEC System for Certification to Standards Relating to Equipment for Use in Explosive Atmospheres), together with Croatian Standards Institute and in conjunction with UNECE, are organizing the 2018 IECEx International Conference in Split, Croatia on 23rd April 2018.

Please see the IECEx website for further information and also see the Conference Brochure (updated March 6).

The Conference builds on the ongoing work of UNECE to prevent, prepare for and adequately respond to risks that may affect lives, livelihood and the environment.

Specifically, UNECE has been working since 2008 in close cooperation with IEC and IECEx to increase convergence among international regulatory frameworks in the sector of environments with an explosive atmosphere.

The UNECE work aims at:

 - Exchanging information about existing regulatory frameworks in different countries in this sector and their implication for business and other regulatory stakeholders;

-  Discussing options for achieving increased convergenece among existing regulatory frameworks.

Regulators from Australia, Brazil, the European Union, the Russian Federation, and the United States as well as a number of other countries continuously support the initiative.

Products used in dangerous facilities need a globally harmonized regulatory framework to protect the safety of workers, of communities living nearby and environmental integrity.
