The fourth working meeting of the Team of Specialists (ToS) on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Traceability of Sustainable Value Chains in the Circular Economy will take place on the 9 July 2024, in-person in Geneva and online, from 15:00 – 17:30 CEST. The meeting is embedded in The Sustainable and Digital Trade Facilitation Week, which features the 42nd UN/CEFACT Forum on 8-10 July 2024 and the 30th UN/CEFACT Plenary on 11-12 July 2024.
The meeting will be underpinned by a discussion on transparency at scale for due diligence and ESG compliance, the issue of data sharing and reuse from data ecosystems, the governance of global ESG data sharing and digital product passports. In particular, the Team will discuss the draft UNECE Recommendation 49 Transparency at Scale, which aims to provide policy guidance on implementing traceability and transparency across borders and industries. The purpose of the meeting is to identify cooperations, build synergies and identify recommendations for a common view of end-goals to scale traceability and transparency, in line with the objectives of the ToS.
Representatives from governments, policymakers, international organisations, industry associations, academia and sustainability initiatives will contribute to the segments of the meeting. More details will be available closer to the date.
