41st UN/CEFACT Forum: Single Window Mini-Conference
Sharing Implementation Experiences and Best Practices
Background and Programme
Background
The concept of a Single Window has played a pivotal role in transforming international trade procedures, offering a streamlined approach for traders to fulfil all regulatory requirements at a single-entry point. Recognizing its significance, the United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business (UN/CEFACT) has consistently worked towards providing robust methodologies, guidelines and recommendations to enhance its implementation globally.
As part of this ongoing effort, the recent release of the Single Window Assessment Methodology (SWAM) and our current project to establish a regional single window represent significant milestones. SWAM serves as an evaluative toolset, aiming to standardize assessments, highlight areas of improvement, and offer a structured approach based on international recommendations.
Objective
This mini conference aims to spotlight the implementation of single window and the SWAM methodology delving deep into their foundational principles, objectives, and application. Furthermore, it provides a unique platform for nations, trade experts, and businesses to share their experiences of SW implementation and the application of SWAM methodology, narrate challenges they have faced, solutions innovated, and the tangible impacts realized.
