The Bureau of the Conference of European Statisticians carried out an in-depth review of measuring well-being in the era of the “digital society” in October 2019 and February 2020.

The in-depth review identifies key issues that need to be considered when defining and measuring well-being in the digital age, focusing on emerging challenges and opportunities for adapting statistical infrastructures in the face of the digital transformation. The document presents the results of the survey on country practices and reviews the key international initiatives. It also presents the conclusions and recommendations for further work.
