On 17 February 2021, the Special Envoy met with Mr. Achim Steiner, UNDP Administrator, to inform of the global problem and share about road safety in the Sustainable Development targets.
Purpose of the discussion was also to highlight the advice provided by the Special Envoy to UN Country Teams during missions, i.e. UN efforts including the UNRSF, the UN Road Safety Strategy and the UN road safety legal instruments. In this connection, the Special Envoy also elaborated on the effort to encourage each UN Resident Coordinators to consider integrating road safety under the relevant strategic priorities and outcomes of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, which also extends to UNDP country-level work.
