On 1 February 2021, the Special Envoy met with Mr. Hiro Mizuno, Special Envoy on Innovative Finance and Sustainable Investments, and Ms. Olga Algayerova, Executive Secretary of the UNECE.
Throughout the discussion, the Special Envoy informed of the global crisis on the roads as well as highlighted financial implications to economies and shortage of adequate funding. Furthermore, the Special Envoy explained about the UNRSF and shared about the development of innovative financing mechanisms for road safety by partners and asked for support. Special Envoy Mizuno welcomed collaboration and offered support.
