The first meeting of the Core Group on Groundwater under the Legal Board of the Water Convention took place on 30 January 2012 in Geneva.
The Core Group on Groundwater under the Legal Board of the Water Convention was established in order to develop the model provisions on groundwater, further to the mandate given by the Meeting of the Parties to the Convention at its fifth session to the Legal Board and the Working Group on Integrated Water Resources Management to prepare a preliminary study on the application of the principles of the Convention to transboundary groundwater.
