Eighth meeting of the Compliance Committee under the Protocol on Water and Health

The eighth meeting of the Compliance Committee was held on 10 October 2012, from 10am to 6pm, back to back with the fifth meeting of the Working Group on Water and Health (Geneva, 11 – 12 October 2012).

The main objectives of the eighth meeting were:

• To discuss the approach of the Compliance Committee to further encourage Parties to take advantage of the offered consultation process to facilitate the implementation of the Protocol, and agree on the next steps;

• To discuss the Committee’s role in monitoring and assessing compliance with the reporting requirements in relation to the second reporting exercise under the Protocol, prior to the third session of the Meeting of the Parties;

• To discuss the preparation of the report on the Committee’s activities to be submitted to the Meeting of the Parties at its third session
