The Workshop on tools for energy planning to achieve SDG7 in Uzbekistan will be co-organized by UNECE and ESCAP with support of the Agency for Innovative Development of Uzbekistan in the framework of the Innovations for Sustainable Development Week (InnoWeek.UZ-2024). It will provide information on the current status of the joint ESCAP-UNECE UN Development Account project “Strengthening energy policies of Countries with Special Needs to build back better from COVID-19” in Uzbekistan, experience of other countries that have developed SDG7 Roadmaps with the use of NEXSTEP, and further steps in achieving SDG7 in Uzbekistan. When the key scenarios are developed, the results and findings from the analysis will be sent to stakeholders to seek comments, suggestions, and expert opinions to ensure that these findings are meaningful and aligned with Uzbekistan’s specific context. Once agreed upon, these scenarios will form the basis for the development of the SDG7 Roadmap in Uzbekistan.
