The fourth Global Round Table on PRTRs was held on 20-21 November 2024 in Geneva, back to back with the eleventh meeting of the Working Group of the Parties to the Protocol on Pollutant Release and Transfer Registers (Protocol on PRTRs)  on 22 November 2024. The above meetings were open to representatives of UN Member States and OECD Member countries as well as stakeholders, such as intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations, industry, academic institutions, members of the public and experts.

The fourth Global Round Table on PRTRs was organized under the auspices of UNECE and OECD in cooperation with UNITAR and UNEP. The round table fostered exchange of experiences between Governments and different stakeholders as well as built experts’ capacities and promoted synergy on PRTR-related issues. The presentations and discussions during the event were centred on good practices, common challenges and new opportunities related to the further development of PRTRs.  Provisional programme for the Global Round Table on PRTRs and other background material for the event are available below.
