The Voluntary National Review (VNR) – Voluntary Subnational Review (VSR) – Voluntary Local Review (VLR) Studio: “Unveiling Best Practices for Multilevel Governance in Localizing SDGs” was organized as a side event to the Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (Geneva, 13-14 March 2024). The VNR-VSR-VLR Studio was organized by UNECE in cooperation with UN DESA, UN-Habitat, Union of Cities and Local Governments (UCLG).
The VNR-VSR-VLR Studio:
- Informed on the latest developments on localizing the SDGs in the UNECE region;
- Discussed experiences in the use of the data for evidence-based policymaking by cities;
- Drew from concrete examples on cities and national administrations and UN agencies and allowed for a more formal and informal debate;
- Placed a special emphasis on exploring how collaborative structures between city and national governments can be optimized. Participants delved into innovative models, challenges faced, and best practices to enhance multilevel governance dynamics.
