Thirteenth session of the Team of Specialists on Innovation and Competitiveness Policies

Information for delegates

The session will feature a policy dialogue on “Leveraging Innovation for the Circular Economy” where delegates will have the opportunity to take stock of the progress made in the implementation of the recommendations emerging from the discussion on the Circular Economy at the Team’s session in 2017. Delegates will also share experiences and good practices on the Circular Economy in the ECE region; particular attention will be given to national innovation and Circular Economy strategies and roadmaps, to support mechanisms for the private sector, particularly to Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), to the potential of innovation-enhancing procurement, and to developing the sharing economy using digital platforms to make better use of excess capacity. The Team will discuss developments and progress in the region in the last four years and recommend further action. 

The session will also shape the programme of work of the Team of Specialists in the coming year; it features a policy discussion around the findings of the draft Innovation for Sustainable Development Reviews of Moldova and Uzbekistan as well as around a progress report of the ECE Task Force on Innovation Policy Principles for Sustainable Development.
