The expert meeting was conducted within the pilot application of SEA for the National Strategy on use of alternative and renewable energy sources in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2015 – 2020 and focused on assessing the likely effects related to the Strategy and formulating relevant mitigation measures.
The event was organized by the the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources in cooperation with the State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Resources (responsible for preparation and adoption of the Strategy) and supported by the Secretariat to the UNECE Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context (Espoo Convention) and its Protocol on Strategic Environmental Assessment (Protocol on SEA).
The activity was carried out in the framework of the EU funded Programme Greening Economies in the Eastern Neighbourhood (EaP-GREEN).
