Training Workshop on practical application of strategic environmental assessment in Georgia

The training workshop was conducted within the pilot application of SEA for the National Waste Management Strategy and Action Plan of Georgia.

The aim was to support execution of SEA pilot through introducing the procedural aspects of SEA, the roles of various authorities and civil society in the SEA process, environmental assessment methods applicable to the level of strategic planning and approaches to the preparation of an SEA report. The event was organized by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources Protection of Georgia with support of the Secretariat to the UNECE Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context (Espoo Convention) and its Protocol on Strategic Environmental Assessment (Protocol on SEA).

The activity was carried out in the framework of the EU funded Programme Greening Economies in the Eastern Neighbourhood (EaP-GREEN).
