In accordance with decision IS/2 adopted by the Meeting of the Parties to the Convention at its intermediary session (Geneva, 5-7 February 2019), the ad hoc working group continues to work on the draft guidance on the applicability of the Espoo Convention to the lifetime extension of nuclear power plants. It will do so in line with the terms of reference adopted by the Working Group on EIA and SEA at its seventh meeting (Geneva, 28-30 May 2018); and the work of the ad hoc working group since May 2018, as reported in its progress report, also taking into account the outcomes of the workshop on the lifetime extension of nuclear power plants (Geneva, 28 May 2018).

The ad hoc group will also continue to ensure that the views of civil society and other stakeholders are taken into account in the process, through regular consultations.
