A capacity building workshop on the ECE Industrial Accidents Convention will be held within the framework of the National Policy Dialogue in Turkmenistan on 9 and 10 October 2014. The workshop will be organized back-to-back with a workshop on the Protocol on Water and Health to the Water Convention.
The overall objective of the workshop is to enhance the capacity of all relevant stakeholders in the area of prevention, preparedness and response to industrial accidents and to present the benefits and obligations related to accession to the Convention, notably with regard to the improvement of the industrial safety and to the sustainable development of Turkmenistan.
Participants expected to take part in this workshop will be national authorities in the areas of environment protection, emergency management, water management, labour safety and public health and other relevant stakeholders from industry, academia and NGOs.
