Representatives of the UNECE Industrial Accidents Convention secretariat and the Committee of environmental regulation, control and state inspection in the oil and gas complex of Kazakhstan, the national competent authority for the implementation of the Convention, participated in the Working Group Meeting of the National Policy Dialogue Steering Committee in the Republic of Kazakhstan, held on 16 September 2015, Astana, Kazakhstan, presenting the link between indusrial accidents and transboundary water pollution and the progress achieved by kazakhstan in implementing the Industrial Accidents Convention. They were supported by Mr. Serik Ahmetov, member of the Joint Expert Group on Water and Industrial Accidents.
