Side event to the European Habitat Conference

Objectives of the side event were (1) to discuss the linkages between energy, cities, and industrialization, and sustainable patterns of consumption and production for the implementation of the Agenda, and the achievement of the SDGs; and (2) to collect proposals for the development of the system of the monitoring of the SDGs related to housing and urban development at the national and regional levels based on the ongoing processes in the region. Habitat III will provide an opportunity to complement the set of SDG indicators that are relevant for urbanization and housing with additional indicators that are required to monitor the New Urban Agenda.
This side event was organized by the UNECE Committee on Housing and Land Management, the UNECE Transport, Health and Environment Pan-European Programme (THE PEP) and the UN-Habitat, in cooperation with UNEP, UN-ISDR, WHO.
