The Working Party reviews the status of the 17 United Nations Conventions in the field of border crossing facilitation, which it administers. The Working Party not only discusses issues related to the application of the TIR customs transit procedure, but also issues in the application of other legal instruments, such as, but not limited to, the Harmonization Convention of 1982, the Temporary Importation Conventions for private (1954) and commercial (1956) vehicles as well as the new Convention on the facilitation of border crossing procedures for passengers, luggage and load-luggage carried in international traffic by rail.
