United Smart Cities: implementing smart sustainable cities approaches worldwide

The United Nations Economic Commission of Europe (UNECE) and Organization for International Economic Relations (OiER) are organizing the workshop “United Smart Cities: implementing smart sustainable cities approaches worldwide” in Kiev, Ukraine on 29 January 2019. The workshop is organised as part of the Business for Smart Cities ExpoCongress.

“United Smart Cities” is a multi-stakeholder programme, which aims to address the major urban issues worldwide and supports the implementation of the 2030 Agenda at the local level. A big work under this programme is the elaboration of studies on city’s performances using the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Smart Sustainable Cities elaborated under the global initiative “United for Smart Sustainable Cities (U4SSC)”.

The workshop will present the progress made on the implementation of the United Smart Cities programme and will discuss smart sustainable cities approaches in Ukraine. The event will also focus on the work of the UNECE Joint Task Force on Energy Efficiency Standards in Buildings and on ways to improve energy efficiency in buildings and neighbourhoods to promote smart sustainable cities and policies in Ukraine and in the UNECE region.
