The fifth session of the Group of Experts on Energy Efficiency (GEEE) will be held in the framework of the Ninth International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development. It will focus its discussions on activities included in its Work Plan for 2018-2019 and will cover the following topics:
- Energy efficiency in industry
- Energy efficiency in buildings
- Role of utilities, big date and geospatial data in energy transition
- Overcoming barriers to financing of energy efficiency and renewable energy
The session will include the Workshop on Energy Efficiency in Industry: Making Industrial Energy Efficiency the New Normal, Workshop on Energy Efficiency in Buildings, and Workshop on the role of utilities, big data and geo-spatial data in energy transition. The Workshop on Energy Efficiency in Industry will discuss the activities under the Task Force on Industrial Energy Efficiency to be established in September 2018. The Workshop on Energy Efficiency in Buildings will serve as the fourth meeting of the Joint Task Force on Energy Efficiency Standards in Buildings and will look at the status of implementation of the JTF activities and the projects that support JTF. The Workshop on Overcoming barriers to financing of energy efficiency and renewable energy will be a joint session of GEEE and the Group of Experts on Renewable Energy (GERE).
