The 5th Meeting of International Organisations, co-hosted by the UNECE, ISO and IEC under the aegis of the OECD partnership, took place on 12 April 2018, at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland.
Building on the achievements of this initiative so far (see http://www.oecd.org/gov/regulatory-policy/a-partnership-for-effective-international-rule-making.htm), this meeting provided the opportunity to:
- Exchange on the core focuses of the IO partnership, i.e. the variety of international instruments, their implementation and impacts; the practices to promote evidence-based, inclusive international norms and standards; and the opportunities and challenges of greater coordination across international organisations;
- Report and discuss the progress made in the working groups and on the case studies underway;
- Discuss new developments in international standard-setting.
Participation in the meeting included representatives from the IO partnership, selected academics, and country delegates from the OECD Regulatory Policy Committee.

Session 1: Understanding the landscape of international rule-making: the variety of instruments, implementation and coordination
