The three international organizations responsible for the ‘Common Questionnaire on Inland Transport Statistics’ - Eurostat, the International Transport Forum (ITF), and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) - have initiated a streamlining exercise for this data collection framework. This initiative was discussed at the Coordinating Group for Statistics on Transport (CGST) meeting on 29-30 November 2023, the 10th ITF statistics meeting on 11-12 April 2024 and the 75th session of the UNECE Working Party on Transport Statistics on 24-26 April 2024.
On July 9th, the three organizations launched a written consultation on a draft proposal to revise four themes of the Common Questionnaire: Rail, Road, Inland Waterway, and Road Vehicle-Kilometre.
This dedicated virtual Q&A session is organized to provide a forum for member States to ask any questions regarding the proposed modifications to the questionnaire. Representatives from Eurostat, ITF, and UNECE will be present to explain the changes and discuss the rationale behind these modifications.
