The 2024 Global Methane Forum (GMF 2024) will convene global thought and industry leaders in Geneva, Switzerland from 18-20 March 2024 to promote replicable methane mitigation successes and mobilize action to continue making progress toward addressing methane. The Forum will be hosted by the Global Methane Initiative (GMI) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in partnership with the Global Methane Hub and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC).

Participants will follow three separate thematic tracks on methane emissions from the coal, oil and gas, and bio-gas sectors.
UNECE Events
Within the framework of GMF2024, the UNECE Sustainable Energy Division will hold annual sessions of two Expert Groups, namely on:
- Coal Mine Methane and Just Transition (19th session), and
- Gas (11th session).

GMI Events
GMF2024 will feature a meeting of GMI Steering Committee, as well as sessions of three GMI Sub-Committees, on:
- Biogas,
- Coal, and
- Oil and Gas.
