The session will be dominated by a debate on the future of the Group, which will constitute a continuation of the discussion started during the 14th session held in November 2019 in Geneva. Under that item the members will also hear an update from the Director of the Sustainable Energy Division and the Secretary of the Committee on Sustainable Energy on the respective ongoing and planned activities of those bodies. The second part of the session will feature, among other items, the tenth joint meeting of the Group of Experts on CMM and the Global Methane Initiative (GMI) Coal Subcommittee. At the session references will be made to the discussions held at an unofficial virtual meeting of the Group that took place on 22-23 July 2020, and the Group will make decisions on the matters addressed throughout the course of the latter.
