Round table «Prospects for the development of the «green economy» in the Republic of Kazakhstan: Strategic Environmental Assessment»

The roundtable is organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe in cooperation with the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan with organizational support of the "Coalition for "green" economy and G-Global Development" in the framework of the joint project EU/UNDP/ UNECE "Supporting Kazakhstan's transition to a Green economy Model" .

The aims of the event are to discuss the feasibility of developing the Strategic environmental assessment (SEA) system in Kazakhstan, present the final version of the Review of Kazakh national legislation regarding the applicability of the provisions of the UNECE Protocol on SEA, and to assess the benefits of application of SEA in Kazakhstan.

Parliamentarians from the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, high level representatives of government authorities, international organizations, businesses associations and NGOs took part at the roundtable.
