The 42nd session of the Joint Working Party on Forest Statistics, Economics and Management was held from 22-24 March 2021. An overview of the meeting is here (as of March 17).
The Working Party discusses activities undertaken by the Joint Section and provides guidance on future activities.
The session of the Joint Working Party did not take place in 2020 and will therefore review work implemented by the secretariat in the past two years.
The meeting was convened in hybrid mode that allowed for on site (Room Tempus 2, Palais des Nations) and remote participation with simultaneous interpretation in English, French, Russian languages. Only registered participants received detailed information about the online access to the meeting.
The background documents prepared by the secretariat in 2020 are still valid in terms of reported content.
Due to time constraints the 42nd session only discussed points for consideration outlined in the annotated agenda (ECE/TIM/EFC/WP.2/2020/1/Rev.1) and the set of 2021 documents.
In accordance with UNOG COVID-19 update and in keeping with the host country guidance, the number of in-person participants representing Member States was limited to five delegates in the conference room. Thus, delegations were strongly encouraged to participate in the meeting remotely.
