Twelfth meeting of the Working Group on Water and Health

The Working Group on Water and Health will review the implementation of the Protocol programme of work for the period 2020–2022, specifically considering the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on the current and future programmes of work. The meeting will also discuss how to raise the resources needed for the programme of work implementation.

Two special sessions will be organized:

  •     A keynote speech by Mr. Pedro Arrojo-Agudo, Special Rapporteur on the human rights to safe drinking water and sanitation on 14 April, and
  •     A session on how to attract investments and close the financing gap for the water and sanitation sector in the pan-European region and beyond, with a keynote speech by Mr. Stef Smits, IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre (Netherlands), and a panel discussion on 15 April)

The working languages for the meeting will be English, French and Russian.

To access the meeting:

  1. Copy the connection link into Google Chrome or Firefox:
  2. Type in your credentials: COUNTRY_FirstName_LastName or ORGANIZATION_FirstName_LastName
  3. Do NOT check the box “I am a Chairperson”
  4. Click on “Submit” button
  5. Please choose the audio and video device that you will be using
  6. Click on “Save”
  7. You are joining the meeting

Registration

Delegates planning to attend the meeting, whether virtually or in-person, are requested to register by 31 March 2021.

Instructions for Indico registration:
Step 1Account creation. You must create an account if you do not have one yet. If you already have an existing account proceed to Step 2. 
   1- Go to registration page: https://reg.unog.ch/user/register (copy the link and paste on recommended browsers: Firefox, Chrome and Microsoft Edge)
   2- Fill out the account creation form then click on Confirm
   3- You should receive an email with an activation link. Click on that activation link.
   4- Your account is now activated

Step 2: Register for the meeting.
   1- At this stage, you have already created and activated your account on the new UNOG online registration and accreditation system (One time exercise).
   2- Go to the meeting registration page: https://indico.un.org/event/34723/ (copy the link and paste on recommended browsers: Firefox, Chrome and Microsoft Edge)
   3- Click on the button "Register now" - If you are not already logged in, you will be redirected to the login page where you can log in using your user name (email) and password.
   4- Fill out the registration form and click on Submit.
   5- Once you are registered, you will receive an email informing you that your registration has been received and is pending approval
   6- As soon as the Secretariat processes your registration, you will receive a confirmation email
