The general objective of the workshop is to inform stakeholders in the water sector in Cameroon, to share information on the process initiated by Cameroon to become a party to the Water Convention and to discuss the next steps in the accession process.
The specific objectives are as follows:
- Inform stakeholders in the water sector in Cameroon about the Water Convention;
- identify the benefits, possible advantages and strategic objectives of Cameroon's possible accession and the contribution of this process to Cameroon's hydro-diplomacy;
- Discuss the practical implementation of the Water Convention to address the challenges of water resources management in Cameroon, based on the experience of existing Parties;
- Present the global report of the working group in charge of preparing the process of Cameroon's accession to the Convention;
- Discuss the next steps in the accession process.
