30 January 2002
The UNECE secretariat has prepared a consolidated document containing the complete text of all amendments covering the validity of vehicles and containers with sliding sheets under the Convention that have come into force on 12 June 2001 (ECE/TRANS/17/Amend.20). The document is available in English, French and Russian and contains also all corrections proposed by the Depositary during 2001 and 2002. A Spanish version of the document is in preparation. The document is available in PDF format on this web site under "TIR Convention - Latest amendments to the TIR Convention".
Hard copy versions of this document may be obtained from the UNECE or TIR secretariats or during the forthcoming sessions of the UNECE WP.30 (Geneva, 12-15 February 2002) and the TIR Administrative Committee (Geneva, 14 and 15 February 2002). Since 1 December 2001, the date as of which TIR operations could be established in Yugoslavia, 7962 TIR Carnets have been processed by the Yugoslav Customs authorities until 23 December 2001. There is a continuing upward trend in the use of the TIR Customs transit procedure in and through Yugoslavia and, so far, no problems in the practical operation of the TIR system in Yugoslavia have been reported to the UNECE and TIR secretariats.
