New Timber Market Issues Website covers:
eCommerce, eBusiness,
biofuel markets, expansion and enhancement
of global wood products markets and
responsible trade
Geneva, 3 May 2005 - The United
Nations Economic Commission for Europe
(UNECE) and Food and Agriculture Organization
(FAO) Team of Specialists on Forest Products
Markets and Marketing just established
a new “Current Issues” website
to exchange information at:
http://www.rnr.lsu.edu/lfpdc/unece/
The current issues on the
site are categorized into:
1) Biofuels
2) eCommerce and eBusiness, i.e. electronic
commerce and business
3) Expansion and enhancement of global
markets for wood products
4) Illegal logging/sustainability of
forests & forest products –
responsible trade
For each of these issues, the information
on the website will be categorized into:
a) Articles, presentations, databases,
and other information
b) Activities and initiatives
c) Events and meetings
d) Links to further information
e) Geographical region.
The website was built
and is being maintained by the Louisiana
Forest Products Development Center, Louisiana
State University Agricultural Center.
As the site is public, there are instructions
for submitting content. Submissions and
the website are currently limited to English.
Articles, abstracts, presentations, databases
and other information are welcome in either
pdf, PowerPoint, Word or Excel format.
There is also a link
to the site from the Team’s site
within the UNECE Timber Committee and
FAO European Forestry Commission website
