UNECE Gender Activities
Capacity Building Trainings for Women Entrepreneurs
Since 2006 UNECE has been organizing capacity building workshops on women entrepreneurship for policymakers at national and local level responsible for SME policies, representatives of women’s business associations, members of academia and NGOs from the SPECA member countries. These workshops are supported by the Government of Israel and implemented by the Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center (MCTC). In 2006-2007 in total 110 people were trained. Workshops are a part of the SPECA PWG work programme for 2006-2008.
In 2008 two workshops in Russian language will be organized:
1. “Support Systems for Women Entrepreneurs” ( 26 March-10 April 2008, Haifa)
2. “Women Entrepreneurs and Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs)” (1-12 December 2008, Haifa)
The deadline for applications to the first workshop is 29 February 2008. Application forms can be received from the Israel Embassy in applicant’s country and returned directly to them.
