Beijing Process
At its fifty-fourth session the UN Economic Commission for Europe decided
to convene an expert meeting at the intergovernmental level, at the request
of the General Assembly, in order to provide a regional assessment for the
2000 review of the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action. The
UNECE Regional Preparatory Meeting on the 2000 Review
of the Implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action was held in Geneva from 19-21
January 2000.
In compliance with the decisions of the 59th UNECE Annual Session and of
the Ad Hoc Informal Meeting of the Commission (28 May 2004), the UNECE
Regional Preparatory Meeting for the 10-year review of Implementation of the
Beijing Platform for Action (Beijing +10), was held
on 14-15 December 2004, Room XIX, Palais
des Nations, Geneva.
